Where to Shop, Stay & Eat in Ojai

Ojai is like a hidden gem. Only 90 minutes from Los Angeles, this sleepy town is home to amazing shops, spas, sweeping mountain views, and delicious baked goods. If you're looking for a relaxing getaway or a spur-of-the-moment day trip, I could not recommend Ojai enough.

WHERE TO STAY IN OJAI

If you're like me, you love Airbnb. My girl friend and I stayed at The Ranch House, full review here, and for our next visit (yes we are already planning it) we will probably stay here, at The Oh, Hi House.

If you like a unique, more instagrammable experience, stay in a renovated caravan at Caravan Outpost.

If you're more of an all-inclusive, spa-on-the-premises kind of girl, Ojai's got you covered with The Ojai Valley Inn. And if you're more for a boho-chic hotel with a pool kinda girl, look no further than the Ojai Rancho Inn.

WHERE TO SHOP IN OJAI

Ojai is home to some gorgeous shops. My favorite being Summer Camp. Filled with cacti, home goods, ceramics, and crystals, this good vibe store was what made me want to go to Ojai to begin with. Gas station turned hipster heaven, this is the store of my dreams. I left with decorative pillows for my bed, a ceramic bowl, and a light catcher.

Next up, Cattywampus, a craft store with home decor items mixed in. Candles, books, cards, yarn, and giant crochet hooks, this shop has it all. And it's shares a roof with the best coffee shop in Ojai, Beacon. Come, relax, take a class, or just stock up on some yarn for your next project.

Bart's Books is an open-air book shop that you could spend hours at. The colorful green shelves are lined with used books arranged by topic. There is an even an old house filled with books. My favorite part? The kitchen filled with, you guessed it, cookbooks.

Fig Curated Living is a home goods shop in the heart of Ojai. Filled with plants, blankets, an array of knick knacks and gifts for baby, this shop is must visit for a unique gift.

WHERE TO EAT IN OJAI

Knead Baking Company is the breakfast spot of my dreams. If I lived in Ojai, they would know me by name here. Every baked good is more delicious than the last, they serve up a different fresh squeezed juice every day, and they have avocado toast. Knead I say more?

Ojai Tortilla House, if you're walking down Ojai Avenue you'll smell the carnitas in the air. This place is legit. Giant burritos and tasty tacos made to order.

Tipple & Ramble is the CUTEST spot in Ojai. This place specializes in charcuterie and wine pairings making for the perfect brunch, snack, lunch, any-time-of-day treat. Order inside and shop the assortment of home goods then head to the patio where you'll find giant beach umbrellas, lounge seating covered in palm print, a hammock and mosaic tables.

Boccali's Pizza & Pasta serves up classic Italian dishes the way your grandma would at a family dinner. Think piping hot lasagna, a basket of garlic bread and spaghetti and meatballs.

The Nest has a little bit of everything, guaranteed to please everyone. Some of the favorites here are the bao buns, fish tacos, poke bowl, and fried chicken sandwich.
